In an introductory letter dated 19th June, 2018, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, through the national sports commission, was briefed about the new sport of loofball.

On acknowledging the receipt of the letter, the ministry, in writing, advised the organizers of Loofball (The Loofball Coaching Team) to incorporate or register with the corporate affairs commission and look for ways to source funds and promote the game.

In a response letter referenced FMYS/FEAD/Loofball IVO.1, and addressed to the Loofball head coach, Engr. Winner Vidiyeno Matahula, the ministry said: "the ministry is advising the organizers of Loofball to register under non-governmental organization and to source funds from corporate organizations and sports loving individuals to run the sport and to promote it."

Speaking recently after a training session in Abuja, Engr. Matahula expressed optimism as regards the ministry's response.

"This marks a remarkable point in the history of the game and a timely boost to the Loofball Coaching Team. We're determined more than ever to develop and advance this game, and we're grateful to the ministry for acknowledging and guiding us." He said.

It would be recalled that Loofball began just more than a year ago.
